Wednesday Warm Fuzzies 6

Each "Wednesday Warm Fuzzies" post is a compilation straight from our case managers of the amazing things God is doing at Cornerstone and in the lives of those we are privileged to serve. To God be the glory!

One of our clients successfully completed our housing assistance program this month. She has used the time in the program to secure a better job that is closer to her home. She and her teenage daughter are now stably housed thanks to Cornerstone’s help.

One of our ladies has had some medical trouble lately that has prevented her from working. She and her four children were at risk of losing their home. Through the help of Cornerstone, they are able to stay in their home as she finishes up her medical treatment to return to work.

A mother who has had a traumatic time recently (her young daughter was found to have a severe medical issue) was in imminent risk of losing her housing. Through Cornerstone, she has avoided eviction and is back on the road to self-sufficiency.

One client had been reaching out for assistance through Cornerstone for over a month. Due to many circumstances outside of the client’s control, it took him this period of time to come in and conduct an intake. He was exasperated, not so much due to the extended time frame of having a face-to-face, but mostly due to issues he was experiencing with his utility company. In a strange turn of events, God “showed up” in a big way, addressing this client’s needs through a new energy provider that agreed to waive the deposit due to his fixed income. What started as a very challenging scenario ended up being a very positive overall experience.
